Garlic Scape Fingers
Garlic fingers with donair sauce is a late night Nova Scotian staple. It’s that time of year when I’m putting garlic scapes in everything, and after I added some to my pizza dough, these garlic scape fingers were born!
Garlic Scape Fingers
Ingredients
For the garlic scape fingers
- 1 Garlic Scape Pizza Dough
- ¼ cup salted butter, melted
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup chopped garlic scapes, cut into small pieces
- Salt
For the garlic donair sauce
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup white vinegar
- 1 Tbsp reserved garlic scape paste
Instructions
- Prepare recipe for Garlic Scape Pizza Dough. Reserve 1 Tbsp of the garlic scape paste for your donair sauce.
- While the dough is proofing, grate your cheese and prepare your garlic scapes for your fingers. Combine donair sauce ingredients and add remaining garlic scape mixture from the dough.
- Once the dough is fully proofed, preheat oven to 450. Gently turn out dough onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and stretch out into a large circle, about 12”x12” or as big as your baking sheet with allow. Oil or flour your hands to prevent sticking.
- Spread out melted butter, add grated cheese and sprinkle garlic scapes on top. Sprinkle with salt. Bake for 10-14 minutes. Allow to sit for 2 minutes and then slice into fingers and serve with donair sauce.
