Aunt Flow's Salted Tahini Hot Cocoa
This iron bomb (11mg!), mineral-rich, liquid gold, self care in a cup recipe provides some much needed nutrients and joy.
I’m using my friends’ beautiful salt at OK Sea Salt, but any high quality sea salt will do the trick!
Yield: 1 generous serving or 2 small servings
Aunt Flow's Salted Tahini Hot Cocoa
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp cocoa powder (No Name is my fav, I don’t make the rules!!!)
- 2 Tbsp tahini
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp Ok Sea Salt
- Pinch of cardamom (optional)
- 1 ¼ cup unsweetened milk of choice
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine cocoa, tahini, maple syrup, sea salt and cardamom (if desired) and whisk to combine.
- Add ¼ cup of milk and whisk to create a paste, then add the rest of your milk and continue mixing until incorporated. Place over medium high heat and whisk continuously until hot and steaming.
- Serve on its own or with whipped cream and sesame seeds.
